A 4 hour EEI Workshop- Effective Advocacy Strategies and Appeals Writing for Your Older Adult Clients with Jennifer Rynbrandt, MA, CMC

This 4 hour workshop focuses on intensive, effective advocacy for your older adult clients. Clinicians who attend the course will leave the workshop with a deeper understanding of the unique, inherent complexities of advocating for the aged in both community and clinical settings. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of care available, costs, and how to support older adults and their families, friends, partners, and spouses, diving into senior-specific care options and barriers to fluid care. Attendees will understand outside influence in a dollar driven health care delivery model and how they can fortify themselves and the seniors they serve with proven guidance, strategic appeals tactics, and confident writing skills. This workshop will offer fresh advocacy approaches for formal advocates in clinical and community settings, as well as clinicians with less field work in geriatric social work.

In this two-hour workshop, we will examine Washington State laws and professional ethical standards regarding personal and dual relationships with clients. Drawing from recent Washington Department of Health disciplinary decisions, participants will engage with real-world case studies that illustrate common risk areas. The workshop will also offer practical strategies for establishing and maintaining appropriate clinical boundaries in everyday practice.

This course is designed to meet the Washington State Department of Health’s requirement for continuing education in Professional Roles and Boundaries.
